Search engines to keep your privacy

Postby darkthorn » 20 Oct 2018, 22:47

Hello dear ones,

I would like to share with you some search engines that respect your privacy.Search engines as Google and Yahoo keep a record or your searches, for instance Google records your IP address and uses tracking cookies to create a digital profile of you, your keywords, the precise time of your queries, and the links that you choose, later they use this information to it you with advertising and God knows what else they do with it. Since I learn about it I started using certain search engines who do not keep a track of my activities on Internet and because to me privacy is quite important I decided to share a small list of engines I am using:

https://startpage.com/ - StartPage is one of the few search engines that does not track user searches or record a user’s IP address.

https://duckduckgo.com/ - DuckDuckGo doesn’t log data about you, so it’s become popular amongst users that wish to surf the web anonymously.

http://www.gibiru.com/ - Gibiru is a modified Google search algorithm that removes identifiers to give users untargeted search results.

hope this will be useful to all of you

Gibiru is not very mobile friendly and its results are distant (understandably so). I didn't know about Startpage but I always use DuckDuckGo - clean as a whistle and fast like lightning! Thanks!

How those engines affect on webmasters? Can they follow visitors from those engines or site rankings?

For DuckDuckGo yes, the standard SEO principles apply. With proper optimization it brings traffic. In the case of DDG it is essential to have the site indexed by Yandex. I haven't worked with the other two options mentioned.
