Is anyone active on Discord/ Twitch chats/streams? Do you run one? What is the community about and how do you find it differs from a traditional forum?

I have a twitch account (that I never use) and I never used Discord... however I have an opinion about the question that you highlighted
I think they differ (a lot) from "tradicional" foruns because there are more interaction between people. People are in a chatroom and are seeing something at the same time and commenting/ sending suggestions about the stream, for example.
I enjoy that kind of interaction. In twitch the streaming are more used for games, but I think, in the future, will expand to another areas like poscasts for example.

I always watch streams because I want to become a streamer myself but at this moment I have a potato of a computer. The best stream I ever watched is when they Julia Voth (the face model of Jill Valentine) Played the remake of Resident evil. She is playing herself as herself.



I watch the streams of fighting game e-sports players like Justin Wong and Kayane because I am a huge fan of fighting games.

Even if your pc is not powerful, you can stream from your phone.

Not with the potato I have. I need a capture card and a better graphics card. Huniepop is the only game I can play with my pc. I want to stream Resident evil 2 remake and Red dead redemption 2.

The site I stream on invited me to join their discord and help them test
and make new games. I will join because they do pay for the game testing. I play games a lot
so it's the best side gig for me.

Just ask the seller of the laptop if the laptop can play red dead redemption 2. That is the best set up.

Twitch is a live video streaming platform where you play videogames and stream it live in front of a live audience. If your audience find you entertaining, they will donate you money, lots of money. Some streamers do it on Youtube, Some do it on twitch and some do it on discord. Even celebrities uses twitch now for that delicious donations.

A twitch stream looks like this:


Twitch is not limited to gamers anymore. Popular painter Bob Ross now streams his painting live. Chefs are now making live cooking videos on twitch too. Aspiring singers make live webcam concerts with twitch.

Twitch is like Youtube but its live. I hope you get it now.

But wow I am not sure If i am going to join twitch. I get paid pretty good on the live stream site I am on now.

Independent wrestling companies are now broadcasting their shows on Twitch. Small MMA and basketball leagues are also streaming matches on twitch too.
