I have had my house and cell phone on a "Do Not Call List" for several years.

It seems like 2018 has been the year that telemarketers started calling cell phones whether you wanted the call or not.

Is it just in the U.S.A. that telemarketers have started ignoring Do Not Call preferences or is this a problem all over the world?

It's every where barring in almost a.l the countries of the world. The telemarketers somehow manage to find loopholes in the rules and call or text repeatedly unless you tell them to take your number out of their database strictly. However one of my number is safe from this problem. It's government service provider BSNL, India which is following the rule very strictly.

In Portugal telemarketers are also very aggressive and that is why I have a blocker on my phone, it doesn't block all calls but for sure it blocks more or less 90%. I find this type of marketing strategy really annoying and I never buy anything when I am approached this way.

Gladly, there is a blocking call feature on most mobile phones.

@darkthorn is so right... in Portugal telemarketers are the worst
years ago my number was "caught" in a list (I don't know how, I think it was when I was searching for a job...) and several numbers called me more than 10 times a day...
Soon I learned how to block them... I also blocked anonymous numbers...
Now, sometimes, I receive a call... and I block the number....
I never answer them...

Better you launch acomplat against the company who is disturbing you as they will be severely penalized to trespass your privacy! May be their license may get cancelled!

In Croatia also telemarkets calls you all time and offer something new. Especially at end of contract.
