Well after 8 years of silence, Finally Samsung are teasing the foldable phones again:



Its a smartphone that can stretch into a tablet. My only complaint with the design is so fat when its folded. I have a feeling it is going to be heavy like the 90's cell phones.

I too saw that advertisement recently. Chinese invented this foldable type mobile phone. I don't have any idea about pricing. But it was interesting no more worries when we keep it on our pocket.

In a way some phones from Motorola back in 2005 plus were also foldable. Let us see how this phone fares in the market.

If you go by its specs then you will probably see nothing new in this phone apart from a little bigger screen (maybe 7 inches+) and a price that will make it unattractive instantly. I believe the phone will cost at least $1200-1500 in the beginning making it impossible for average users. What is the use if you will need a big pocket or a bag to keep it?

Production will start maybe next year, probably for 2 years. Until that we will use "old" technology.

Its expensive at this moment. Eventually it will become cheaper once a new model gets released.

I never liked foldable phone. I think this foldable feature has one advantage and that is, it can keep the phone's screen secured. And like you mentioned, with foldable feature, we will get fat phone or tablet and heavy too. There are phones available already that are not even foldable but heavy. Then it becomes uneasy to use those phones. I have used a heavy phone before and it used to cause pain in my right hand. I hope this foldable phone will be lighter enough to use.

It has been developed since 2011 and they delayed its released for a decade to make sure they perfect it.

If you unfold it, websites might be on the desktop mode. If you fold it, websites will be in mobile phone mode.

That sounds great, a foldable tablet will be amazing. However, I know it will be very expensive at first and some of us won't afford it.

The tablet will definitely looks very fansible but honestly it will have flex problem
