Everything you posted in the internet in the past my haunt you in the future

Postby Netherrealmer » 12 Nov 2018, 08:59

The video is created by Alex. He is an independent videogame developer. He creating a video game titled Yandere Simulator by himself. He is programming it by himself. You cannot expect a videogame programmer making a game by hisself to finish the in a short period of time. He is making the same since 2014. Every month he releases a free demo fans can play.

Some of his fans became impatient that he cannot finish creating the game I understand his situation because he is a single person. He is not a team of programmers. This leads to him having haters, His haters had been stalking his internet activity and they are using posts he made as a teenager against him to ruin his reputation as a person. This had been damaging him psychologically because cyber bullies are watching his every move from the past to the present to make him look like a bad person.

Seriously there are dozen of Youtube channel created just to criticize him and those haters have no idea how psychologically torturing it is for him. This guy is just creating a passion project his fans enjoy but they are jealous of the Patreon donations he is having.

This is an interesting and sad story :(
Cyberbullying is a big issue in the internet, but almost no one talk about it... unfortunately this happens with lots of people, but we only know when this situations happens with people that are known by many people or when the situations have an extremly sad ending (for example with suicide).

That's why my advice is always the same: think 2 or 3 times before publish anything… :?

It takes a thick skin to be online, since there is no defense against attacks of any nature.

I know there is a saying to ignore the trolls but sometimes ignoring them will make things worst. That is what happened to Alex, his silence gave the trolls opportunities to ruin his reputation more.

I just now went on a hunt for old content I left behind to see if this was true.

I ran an organization for 20 years, and the last 14 years of that included a massive website and tons of content that I produced and posted. My name, address, phone number and email address were plastered all over it. Back then, lots of people showed up at my door for personal contact. Even the post office delivered mail to me that they could not figure out for related local services because they knew I would know where it should go,

I was an active member on several related forums at the time and left hundreds of comments. I had registered on dozens of related sites for research and posted content with my name and email address on every one of them.

I left that organization and it was taken over by another group in 2009. They made lots of changes, but eventually dropped the ball and the entire organization is now gone. Since then, someone else took over the old domain name and there is nothing left of the old content, although I did find one google search result that still listed my own data as if it was current. Clicking on that link brought up a 404 page not found.

None of the other content on all those related sites came up at all.

It might take awhile, but not everything remains. Some of it does indeed vanish.

I had someone file a scam report on me back in 2011 and it's still there. The good part is it is so obviously fake news, that it doesn't have any effect. If you search for oldbuddy warren contreras you will find it.

Yes, and often we have tough time on Youtube, and some other social media forums, as people are spamming a lot there.

The thing is his silence made the trolls more believable that they are telling the truth about him. SO yes if someone is making a smear campaign about you fighting back is the only way,

He decided to make manual post approval on his Youtube channel and subreddit to make control the trolls. He is sanity is much more better now. I hope he can now finish his game and not let those cyberbullies destroy him mentally again.

trolls that are funny are cool. But the ones who are mean even after taking it to far are not.
But the ones who say funny things just for attention and to make people laugh are great to me.
Like this radio host, He is a hater/troll and he admits. But he is so funny! And I think people know he is joking for views lol.. but what he says makes me laugh so much.

Either you have to be thickskinned or extremely cautious about what you post online.. I belong to the second category.. feel sorry for this game developer.. people can be real mean online because they have the shield of annonimity.

That goes both ways and makes it easy to ignore them.

More than likely the reputation they ruin is their own, since most people involved in Internet Marketing are very much aware of what they are doing.

I had a bad experince with a laptop in warrantee period and asked for replacement or repair by the company but it all fell on the deef years. Finally I compalined in an online consumer dispute redressal agency. The company people took an action and asked me to go to their regional office about 70km away from my place. I got the things right but they included my name and phone number in the list of their support group. I am still getting calls from various unsatisfied customers as if I will make things right for them.

I agree with you on that it works both ways it doesn't take long for people to figure out what you those harassers are doing. But the mob mentality gets the upper hand.. they get real cruel because of the anonymity factor.
