OldGuy, I already use wireless mouses for my PC. I've also considered using a wireless mouse whenever I use a laptop. A trackpad doesn't feel natural to me. I prefer wireless mouses over an trackpad because it utilizes your whole hand, rather then one finger. Moving the cursor with one finger is also kind of "slow" for me (don't really know what I mean by this) if you have to repeatedly have to click/touch* (touch trackpads are way better then click, but are also more sensitive), hold and then unclick/untouch, which sucks if you do something speed intensive. I actually play chess as one of my hobbies (I'm not great at it though, still fairly new) and it's kind of annoying when I make moves I shouldn't have because I released my finger off the trackpad so soon on online chess servers which could largely be avoided with a mouse. Grrrrr...
I wouldn't use wired mouses though. I tend to wrinkle those wires quick (Often too short or too long?, sometimes right...), and when spread across something like a table, they become intrusive in my opinion. Largely, my choice comes down to intuition and memory. Their are benefits to each though. For example, Apple's Magic Trackpad has a press sensitivity function; if you press harder then normal on it, it allows you to do second-click actions.
Biggest problem with wireless mouses? Connectivity. Can't tell you how many times the Bluetooth on these things is spotty. Loses connection sometimes in middle of a important task which involves the mouse heavily. Sometimes understand (battery of mouse will be low), other times, happens randomly.
