What I'm Doing 'Here' (on the Internet, ForumCoin, Blogger, Facebook, Twitter, etc.)

Postby friendociate » 11 Dec 2018, 17:15

I'm not here "to make money," because 1) I sort of agree with J.M. Keynes in his idea that 'money of a limitless amount' (especially without a material or product to back it) is of lower quality than 'a rare currency' and/or 2) Quid pro Quo (your money's only worth 'what you'll give away to get it'), plus 3) for the longest time, the answer to "How can I make money on the Internet?" was 'No, you can't. If you want money, get off the Internet & GET A JOB!'

So--by-&-large--I'm just here to keep my Self Occupied

And exactly how I'm doing that? besides games on facebook, I pretty-much think about 'the actual reality of philosophy-&-politics-&-religion-&-stuff.' I make-believe people actually want to know what I think (I "know" you really do want to hear some o` this stuff in my head ... that's why I 'make myself believe it' :D )

In a few posts here (mostly posted before I changed 'my strategy' to "posting again on old topics" instead of starting whole new ones), I've said that various writers & newscasters & performers are basically 'sending smoke up into the higher realms' (the collected noise of their music/speech/comedy/drama/etc.); and it it all collides (colludes?) into one mixed-up cloud of odor.

I'm 'slowly realizing' (though I'm sure it's obvious to anyone who follows my online exploits for more than a few days) 'the smoke from one fire isn't rising to mix with the smoke from other fires' so-much as it's 'ME taking materials from many different fuel-sources & throwing them all (the sweet, the musky, the spicy, the stinky) onto MY fire' :wtf:

And I hope the fumes from my campfire attract visitors and encourage them to light their campfires with similar fuel

Yes I mean I don't make much on FC. but I have found some big money sites on there chatting with people in the business sections. I found out some people make 200 a day online lol. So it is possible. I earn pretty well from my gaming live stream and I am starting to do game testing which will make me more money.

I use facebook and twitter to promote my sites that make me ad revenue. But I also provide useful info for people who are interesting in easy money, and making money online.

But Yes on forums I simply love to chat. Most forums I am on, I do not make a sense. I just enjoy chatting with people. :D

No, you don't.

'People pay you when THEY advertise successfully on your webspace.'

And I'll repeat: the money is worth less-&-less unless the advertising attracts customers who pay the advertisers a good return on their investment.

Maybe, now ... but I don't think anybody just registered with an IP one day and the daily $200-checks started rolling in the next day. It took more investment and maybe a continued investment, and possibly huge losses in the beginning.

It just takes time and dedication. I make pretty good money online and I was broke years ago.
Why I used to waste all my time on dating sites, and trying to chat with women on social media. Now I don't care about. I'm all about my money. But I do make time for close family and friends.
Maybe I can find love one day. Till that day I don't play lol :D

I'm thinking that Scrooge had the right idea ... sorta---don't 'push companionship away,' of course; but don't 'fail to do your job (for which the community is depending on you!)'

A bit complex thinking. I too have realized that unless we come up with something "Extra-Special ", Our Internet journeys can't fetch us as much as our offline jobs.
And I can't be fully active on Internet on online paying forums as some other full time Internet workers do.

There actually was a time the average Joe could make some good money online via Adsense advertising, but those days are long gone. I was averaging well over $450 a month before Google started fiddling with their algorithms with Adsense, and by the time the dust settled, it was hard to make even $20 a month following the same program. That kind of earning opportunity has never returned and is not likely to ever show up again. It takes a lot more energy, time, effort and even talent to come close to earning decent money online now.

I quit writing for years after that fiasco and only happened to stumble over this site in search for something else. I started in here for the entertainment, not for any money. If it was for the money, I could make more going out and collecting cans if nothing else.

In fact, I get a whole lot more now just puttering around doing yardwork for fun and the landlord gives me a decent discount on my rent. I was only doing it for the exercise and to get outdoors but he liked the results and offered it without even asking.

My time online is for the entertainment and nothing else. As you can see, I like to sit in front of my own fireplace. :D

Tell me about it! Adsense sucks now. I used to use it years ago and it was not bad.
But now the views do not count and the ones that do don't pay much.
But here is the thing everyone uses ad blockers and script blockers now.
So the ads are not even loading.
I wrote a post on here about how to still make money despite this.
And I am finally now earning well from my blogs even without adsense.
I might just drop adsense all the way, since the ads do not even load.

I make more money online just playing video games, and testing them.
But yes blogging had changed. But also the way to make money blogging had changed.
But I have now finally adjusting. After getting back into blogging a couple months ago.

Also I would like to ad only Youtube video Adsense pays well anymore. And even those are only the people with high followers and views counts. But yes adsense for blogs is pretty useless now.
You have to find new ways to monetize the traffic.

Primary it is not for money. I am in the world wide web particularly on those social media mentioned to share what I have in mind, what ideas I have had, and everything that seems wonderful and good for I have friends abroad, who are looking after for what I am writing in my humble various blog sites.
