Working as a paid loser in videogame.

Postby Netherrealmer » 14 Dec 2018, 15:47

There are so many gamers who want to brag to their friends that they have a winning streak. Here is the thing though. When You play online, you will sometimes encounter players who better than you. So now there are people who are paying people via Paypal or bitcoins to lose for them. It is Illegal in South Korea but legal around the world. All you need to do is play a popular fighting game, competitive shooter or MMORPG online and lose against the player who paid you. Well at first you can give them a bit of hard time so they look like they earn the win then after that you will job to that person and let that person kill you, destroy you and tea bag your character. So their win rate will increase.

This gig can be done on Fiverr or the subreddit slave labour.

This is a gig I can do! I already get paid just to play. But if people want to pay me to close
I will do it. But it pays more to win for example if you win top prize in the mobile legends touranment it's 20,000. But it takes time to build up rank, and form a team that can win the top prize. :D

I think they can see the IP that players use and if they all of a sudden have a leveled up account out of nowhere. It's pretty silly the police would enforce that kind of law. Makes me wonder what is going
on with this world.

I think you can make a new facebook with blank info and throw away e mail.
Then bind it to the account and give them that.

Really??
This new era are full of that... only show off.
People, in front of others, do what is correct, but in their back they are always trying to fool others.
I really don't understand why is that needed... money can buy anything... even win games ;)

The things people recall of doing lol, indeed as a player I never thought of that but it can be indeed a good opportunity to make some extra money specialy because I do not care if I loose or win, when I play a game is to have some fun and you can get it both ways.

A winning streak is more rewarding if you got it on your own. Yeah these people are desperate of a victory they pay people to lose for them so they can win.

I think paying people to lose and help him win just like paid to sign up offers something like that

I agree but that is an ego issue which I overcome after so many years playing games. After sometime you learn that someone needs to win and someone must loose, so winning became just a part of the game and not a desperate goal for you to reach.

Well they can pay me to lose as long as the money keeps flowing into my paypal.
I think I could do this gig. All i need to do it pick characters I suck at playing,
and the losses will come natural. But if I pic my main characters I am going to win! lol

This is same method like you buy some better account or equipment for other user. In every game something else is neccessary for success.

It seems like a lot of money to invest into what is basically just bragging rights. I understand that it's a possible gateway into eSports, but still! The quality of your opponents are just going to get higher and higher by the time you get considered for a team.

If it's just for the sake of showing off... Well, it's the person's money. I'd be more than happy to accommodate them if the price is right.

@Scyllune Well those people are dudebros with money and they take bragging rights seriously. They feel emasculated when they lose so they want a winning streak even if its artificial.

That is the first time I've heard about such a thing. Well, if that's the case then I guess I'm in, but I would only be participating for cash on those games where I already lose, not where I'm good at. And as Scyllune said, the price has to be a good one

I have no idea about such things happening in India but even if was available here it would be an embarrassing situation for me.
