Online magazines are dying too

Postby Netherrealmer » 17 Dec 2018, 22:37

Many Magazines decided to turn their magazines into free websites you can access for free online.Going digital is a desperate attempt to stay alive.

These websites I think are dying too because people prefer social networks over websites these days. For mobile internet users, these picture heavy online magazines consumes a lot of mobile data.

We know majority of internet users these days prefer surfing via smartphones over PC. To make it worst, many Youtube channels make "Article videos" of their stuff so people will rather watch those videos than go to their websites.

I still use sites to get information. But yes news sites try to stay alive. The worst ones are the ones
that want to charge you to read their site. And other sites just run and make money off ads.

I think TV will always be there. Youtube is so soft, and does not let people make more violent content. That is were real TV shows come in. That youtube red channel the shows on there are not good. I watched the new Karate kid one for free, but I would never pay for youtube red lol

Another reason why vlogging is doing much better than blogging.. blogs will soon be a thing of the past .. and its true that people are too lazy to read.. They think its easier to listen to an article video while they multitask. Writers may not have too much to do in the days to come I guess. we could just become backend content providers.

It's really incredible how fast things change, nowadays, especially in the internet.
Internet "grew up" with few people using it and with no rules (or just a few). Faster internet and social networks "called" more people to internet wich provided good conditions for the development of the tablets (first) and smartphones (next).
Online magazines, blogs and even traditional media are worried about that changes. But, can they stop this evolution?
In europe 2019 will mark a change in youtube and other social netwoks rules. Have you already heard about the 13th article?

Yes for many, the new age changes make survival quite tough.

That is a good observation. This modern technology has greatly affected some businesses. Newspaper, magazines, and TV later on would be left behind. The readers would go to the Internet to read them or using their cellphone for that.

Artificial intelligence will destroy all News blogs. Non-news blogs won't get affected from News Blogs.

Just new blogs? People are doing everything possible with AI from writing lyrics to emoting and copying man in every way and doing things much better in so many spheres.. AI will replaced us in so many ways.. what we see is only the tip of the iceberg.

E-magazine is more workable nowadays as postage fee is expensive too, yet the readers can grab a latest copy just within few clicks.

The only way these only magazines can survive is to turn their websites into apps. People prefer apps over websites these days.

That is different from magazine websites though. Magazine websites are free.

Along with that, creativity is dying too. Speaking of Article Videos you know what I observe these days. Some folks are stealing other people's written content and making video articles out of it. What is that, an advanced form of plagiarism, or is that the creative spin? :D I don't know what to make of it but some of it is so blatant that it appears they are reading word-for-word directly from the (stolen) articles when doing these videos.

True though, we went from physical magazines to online magazines and still anticipating the next development. It's a survival game right now.

There is creativity in such plagiarism too.. :D honestly I find that happening to a large degree with motivational content.. Maybe i am not aware of this in other areas. But I totally agree with what you what you say about video articles. Yes, its a matter of time and survival for those who will not do those things.

People have become too lazy for reading, and all those ads that make a page with an article take ages to load don't help. Really. I would still read the news online, but most news providers make it difficult. I ignore most links on social networks, even with unlimited data (Wi-Fi at home).

Yeah ads in magazine sites and news sites are so aggressive they will freeze your screen.
