SoloLearn

Postby Sam » 08 Jan 2019, 18:42

SoloLearn is a mobile app to learn a variety of programming languages. After learning the basics, you can then go onto more advanced topics created by different users. They also have programming challenges to test your skills.

Anyone here using this app? What are you learning? At the moment, I'm just refreshing my JavaScript knowledge. I have even done the Python course (or most of it) and found that looking at the 'more info' boxes actually provided some useful stuff that I didn't know!

I do not use mobile apps to learn computer languages intead I rather study them online and that is why I bough a Udemy course about computer languages. They teach PHP, CSS, Java and a lot more stuff :).

For me, programing in any language is hard on mobile phone. I always do it using laptop.

Absolutely. I would never suggest coding on a mobile. Rather SoloLearn is a good way to practice syntax and concepts which will make you faster when you actually code.

I always look stuff up on my phone while coding - usually I take a break when I have hit a roadblock, think about it and look up ideas on my phone. I never write code on my phone, just not down ideas/plan.

Thanks for the recommendation Sam, I hadn't heard of SoloLearn before, but have just installed it and done the first couple of exercises on C programming. It looks great and it will be a great way to do a little learning when I find myself with a few minutes to spare but am not at a computer.

I've used it a bit myself. I wrote a review on it prior to converting my blog into a forum platform. It seems interesting but I haven't had time to really dive in and start learning anything :P

Haven't heard about it. I usually use desktop or laptop in learning computer language. Sometimes it's risky to use so much mobile apps.
