I remember playing the Original Resident evil 2 and the inventory slots are only 8 items. Which makes the horror more tension filled but the remake gives people now more than 12 item slots. The remake also removed many enemies too and simplified the gameplay.

I also remember back in the days, Bonus modes and unlockables are something you can get after finishing a game, now most bonus games are dlc.

I felt like most games these days are way too easy because the modern day casual gamers are soft.

Yes new gamers can not beat the old games or old arcades which take a lot of skill to win.
Now also people can pay to get their characters strong and get more powers, so they win easily.
But back then you just have to have skills to win.I miss the old games. But I play the classics a lot.

I think the games are shorter which has the perspective of seeming to be easier. They make them shorter then release the "full" version in a bunch of DLCs that you have to pay for. Some companies also make the game Pay to Win - in order to beat your friends, you have to buy special upgrades.

Yeah most of the time they release a 70% finished beta version then milk us fans later with those overpriced dlcs too. During the ps2 era, everything you needed is already inside the disk and all you need to do is to unlock them.

Ooh, that is a good point. People are lazy these days so an easy game works much better.

If we check most popular games are like CandyCrush Saga, Wich saga but they are all the same. And they are very easy.

Yeah compare to Mario and Sonic... a huge difference big time. candy crush is so easy it can be played by a blind person.

of course they're easier. But that's a reflection of the times. Back in my day (80's/90's) arcade games were designed to swallow your money, so they had to be addictive and fun. Home console/pc games started off hard, but that made them offputting for newcomers and the companies behind them were losing profits, so that's when the age of challengeless games began.
It sucks, but at least some companies are old school, like From Software. Personally I like a game that's tough even from the start.

Super Mario is not that hard.But many gamers today would say the old NES Mario is hard. Because they new ones are so much easier. I lot of games now are much easier, because you can level up your weapons and powers to the point of being almost untcouhable, it wasn't that simple in the older games. You had to be good to win, even with the power ups.

Also now we can save, heck there is now autosaving checkpoints so we won't have to worry about dying.

Yes in the old days the best you could do is like in Metroid was save passwords to start at a certain point. But yes most games had not save. Only conitnues, and the continues were limited. So you had to beat it with those continues. I beat an old game live tonight, and it was hard. But also a lot of fun.

Easier the game, more the players. This means greater sale for gaming companies

Some games are easy. But I did see a friend playing God of War the new one live. And he kept being killed by one boss, it looked pretty hard to beat. But I bet one power up or cheat code and he would win. Some games are easy with the cheat codes. But if you play let's say Doom on night mare level it is almost impossible to beat without cheat codes.

New games are made for people not to use their head much, most are easy and don't require people to use the brain, but that has a propose, same as the use of mobile phones, 5D wi-fi, but that is another story.

I miss those games that are strategy and puzzle heavy but newer generations hates thinking.

hmm not sure that newer generations or older generations are any different, but the software companies found easier formula's to plug into to get a wider range of people playing their games. At the end of the day, they're a business and they function on profit.
