Despite of the existence of mobile apps, Game consoles managed to stay relevant because for hardcore gamers, it gives them a better experience when it comes to gaming. Well Apple is now developing a smart tv that functions like a smartphone. It is going to have an app store and you can download games on it. It has a built controllers uses can use. Smartphones managed to kill PSP and 3ds but nintendo switch managed to somehow keep it pocket consoles alive but its in last legs.

Yes cause the mobile apps are garbage compared to real games.
I mean the first person shooters for mobile? they are trash lol.
The Doom which is exclusive to certain consoles is the real game.

I do like some mobile games but honestly the Sega Emulators on mobile lately are more fun
than any more mobile. Some multiplayer fighting games like mobile legends are fun,
but nothing like playing Zelda and real console games.

Well another thing that killed portable consoles was emulators on phones. So you can have all Sega and Nintendo games for free on your phone. You could already do that on PC.
But Nintendo sued any all sites that still had mario and zelda on rom sites.
Why Because they want to sell you the games for Switch, 3Ds, and Wii etc.

I have a 55 inch smart tv, but I also have a Nintendo WII U plugged into it for kids games.

Well a smart phone already does more than any Smart TV does.
All they need to do really do i make an app
to make the video games appear on the big screen like they did with Youtube
and Netflix. no need to make a whole new TV for something a video casting app can do.

I hate apple because they sold out to the Chinese Government. And the Chinese now
have access to all apple users ICloud info. So yeah won't be buying this.

I know apple is involved with child labor. Their products are too expensive for something Android can do for quarter the price.

I don't think so since most of the trending games are released on console or PC. Android is not even near the top
