What do you think about VR and it's applications in the future?

Postby KyushuKris » 24 Feb 2019, 14:04

I think at the moment people only see it as a fun way to play games and chat using weird avatars, but it has so many more practical applications in the future of medicine and education. Can you think of anything VR would be handy for in the future?

Yes I have the same problems with 3D movies.. its why 3D TV did not sell well.
If they do not fix the motion sickness then VR will be the same.
But there are people who enjoy it a lot. I think a little at a time is ok.
but nothing like regular video games that I can play for hours

First person games, especially shooters are nauseating with VR.

oh man i loved it, here in Japan you can try it down the game centers. I played this one game where you ride a flying bike, it really felt like I was falling.

It is very fun!

I'd guess Education, I know a school pushed a request for it so they can virtually disect animals, usually frogs but I guess in VR ALL animals?

Probably same applies to Med School. I can see some military application to it or Bomb squad having a VR view and manouvering the robot more easily.

It has a lot f potential

I watched this vid the other day where they now have invented new controllers that have hand sensors and you can grab objects realistically..i was... blown away. Any doubts I had about VR being a fad have gone.
