Selling old or broken computer stuff

Postby Streamguy69 » 07 Mar 2019, 23:27

Has anyone ever sold old out of date computer stuff? How about broken computers for parts? I heard that this is a pretty good market for those who are looking for parts to fix their older systems .

I did this once via Craigslist. It was an old computer that was just sitting there so I thought I should sell it. The guy who purchased it owned a computer repair shop and that's what he said he'd use it for, parts.

I have 3 old laptops, one is working but the other 2 have issues with the graphical card, I tried to sell them online but had no luck, I believe that people prefer to buy an new computer rather than fixing a new one. Anyway eBay is always a nice play to try to sell computer parts, maybe you will have more luck than I.

I have sold my old desktop to buy a laptop which is more handy. I did not sell my computer in piecemeal but exchange in buyback. Selling in pieces might have proved too difficult for me.

When I tried to sell off my out dated Desk top computer no one showed any interest in purchasing it, that is still lying with in a perfect working condition! I think old computers hardly have any good demand in the market, at least in my country, India. :(

In the the year 2014 I upgraded my computer with new RAM, Motherboard and processor. they were all in good condition. I got a good deal while selling them as second hand products.

A lot of engineers in my neck of the woods buy used laptops at a ridiculous price. Its a bummer
