When I look for recipes I always use this setting for the filter.


The search result I got.... are not videos uploaded today, I got videos uploaded 7 months, ago, 1 year ago and 7 years ago.

So why is the search filter broken? Well it's Youtubes way to check all content uploaded and before they get approved because of the Pedophile content and snuff films being uploaded. Many Youtubers are now complaining because their videos have less views because of it.

Back to the topic, Youtube's search filter is still damn broken and it is irritating me.

Yes youtube needs to fix this. They can let the bad guys find their bad snuff videos.
But the people who want Octopus dish videos can't find it.

ah that explains a few things. a) there are actually people in the world that LIKE octopus (ewww) b) why I also have been seeing a lot of sidebar recommendations for vids that are 7-8 years old.

I think it's fixed now. I can now search on my music. Or maybe it's only the octopus recipe which is broken.

It is still broken. lets say I search a video about the Politician Bernie Sanders, The top result is a 10 year old video even though I filtered it for " this week"

The filters "This week" and "This hour" are broken too. Oh if you want to filter long and short videos dont work too

If that's the case then it means that YouTube is addressing some serious concerns. Good on their part. Sometimes things have to be broken down so they can be fixed. Based on some of the things you've posted recently a lot seemed to have been getting out of hand on YouTube. We just have to wait now for the final outcome.

May be, some key Youtube folks have left the Co., and the replacements are taking time, and may be need to fix many things?

The filters are still broken. I think once a channel is proven to not upload pedophile content and snuff content, they should be exempted and they should be working for the filters again.
