Something wrong with network and wifi adapter

Postby mrki444 » 05 Apr 2019, 17:53

We have weird laptop at job. Our internet speed is about 50Mbps. We check on few computers and everything
works on it fine. On brand new Acer laptop speed is much slower. LAN connection show only 18Mbps and wifi 420KBps.
We check drivers, everything is updated, energy settings are on maximum performance. Laptop is running Windows 10
preinstalled in shop where we buy it.

Did you ever had similar problem and how did you solve it?

mrki444 have you tried connecting the laptop directly to the Internet / router with the network cable? I assume you don't want to do that all the time, but it would be interesting to see what connection speed you get with a direct connection.

We did that. Computer next to it shows 50Mbps and weird laptop shows 18Mbps.

A end we changed entire Windows OS, but problem is we still don't know what cause this error. We couldn't find anything different. All settings are like in old Windows.

I will ask college is it some type of Windows 10 (Home, Pro, etc). Maybe that could cause error.

This is a really awkward issue. Are you still having the same issue?
The only thing that occurs me is asking you to try an USB wifi adapter (and deactivate the wifi that cames with the notebook).
But you are having the same problem with LAN connection...
You can also try to connect the laptop to another network...
Let us know if you find a solution. I would like to know :)

Really interesting and weird. But computers have strange situations like that all the time.
Fortunately wasn't an hardware issue. Probably something to do with drivers... Who knows?
I'm glad to know that you solved the issue and now it's all working well :)
