Blu Ray goes into history

Postby mrki444 » 16 Apr 2019, 16:11

Blu Ray should replace CD/DVD but it didn't make it. It provides better quality and size of files are bigger but movie stream sites destroy it. Netflix, Youtube, Amazon share everything online in HD resolution or even better. People who still need some cheap drive for share files use Clouds or CD.

Blu Ray had future but it didn't last to long.

Did you ever try Blu Ray player or have Blue Ray disc?

I never got any I just got a huge 4k TV. But I mostly stream and watch my old DVDs. I don't see why I should get everything again on Blu Ray. However I will get my favorite and most awesome movies in Blu Ray. to me streaming just doesn't look as good as Blu Ray. and at time it lags and or quality goes down even while trying to stay high quality. Also its expensive to buy a digital download. For that price I rather wait for it to be on sale on Blu Ray. I think Netflix and amazon and free streaming are the only ones I will use. And just buy the movies I really love on Blu Ray.

Ps5 is suppose to be using Blu Ray. In Japan Home video is still a thing because the Japanese have Nostalgia fever. Heck VHS is still popular there too.

They are good for games market but I don't think it's enough. Samsung have every year lower results than year before.

Yes and yes. And now the family is not using it anymore - satellite TV subscription and YouTube killed Blu Ray for us. :geek:

I from the generation that can remember the 8-track tapes. Blu Ray and 8-track tapes will probably end up in the same graveyard.

Blue Ray is often used in TV stores so they can show high quality image on TVs. But when you come home with TV, image is worse since your antena signal is lower quality than Blue Ray.

Thinking about it, it's kind of funny to me. This will probably be the first piece of entertainment technology that came and went before I even had a chance to try it. :D

You didn't miss out on anything. 8-track tapes took up too much space. Cassettes were much better.

I honestly don't even care about the difference between blu-ray and DVD. I just wanted to watch a movie. Heck, I still use VHS tapes sometimes

Some people are obsessed with quality so they will pay a lot of just because of it.
