All browsers are so needy

Postby Netherrealmer » 27 Apr 2019, 08:06

I have 4 browsers for one reason, I use chrome for online jobs. I use opera for social media, I uses Maxthon for downloading videos and I use Avast browser for pirating stuff. I also have 4 different emails and I hate logging in so I prefer being permanently logged than type my essay long passwords. I notice all 4 browsers are begging me to make them my default browser. I wish there is a way to turn off those notification of them asking me to make them default.

Any reason why you feel the need to use 4 different browsers? Yes, you already explained the main function of each of them, but why not just do them in one or two browsers? Now all these browsers are nagging you to make them the 'default one'.

I have 4 emails and 2 facebook accounts. My other facebook account is something I hide from family members because I used it for exchanging lewds.

Those 4 emails have different uses. I also use their for their google storages because Google drive have limitation per account.

Also my google chrome doesn't have adblock because I use it for jobs. Maxthon is great for extracting videos from other sites not named Youtube.

I am pretty sure there is a way to disable most popular browsers from showing those notifications asking if you want to set it as your default browser. Chrome might be an exception for that as Google... is well... Google. I don't use Chrome, Maxthon or Avast Browser so I can't comment directly on them but I am sure there is official or unofficial ways to disable them. Usually someone on the internet has the same issue and finds a solution and shares it.

Opera doesn't seem to have an option to disable it but I don't get bugged by popups asking me to set it as default so maybe it is only a one time thing or an option in the popup to disable further notifications?

I also use Firefox and Firefox nightly and both have a setting for that

Maybe I am lucky with my browser selection but I don't get any annoying popups about being a default browser.

Wow! four is way too many to juggle around with. I stick to one browser, I used firefox because one of the sites I work on works better on that browser, but got rid of that once that site stopped paying. That would be too many for me to manage.

I have installed 6 browers, sometimes even more. Everyday I use Chrome, Opera, Edge, Dragon. Rarely Mozzila and Globus. Sometimes I add new, but after use it, I deinstall it.

I really did not like the Avast browser that much. But I had it just in case.

The 3 browsers that I have been using are Firefox, Chrome, and Opera. All of them are "needy".

They updated the Firefox browser and I had to hunt for an older version so that I could go back to working. The newest version sucked!!

As for Chrome, I've had to uninstall and reinstall several times.

Opera for some odd reason started acting funky! I uninstalled and reinstalled.

I was usually all 3 browsers at the same time. Recently and I don't know who to blame, I had to wipe my computer and reinstall the entire operating system. I have been unable to work online for almost 2 days which seems like an eternity.

Today I managed to get signed in to Forum Coin. I have been here off and on all day. Had to keep shutting down and starting over. Lost Internet access for a while. I'm going to finish my posts and sign out. I am hoping I will be able to visit some other sites where I go to earn money writing.

This experience has been awful. Thank goodness my daughter helped me get my laptop working again.

What OS do you have? Opera sometimes have problems on my Windows 10. I don't know why.

If I am using browsers that is not chrome, some of the sites are telling me I am using a dated version of chrome and that I should update. Chrome is so needy too.

I have Windows 7. I Googled and realized I'm not the only having problems with the Opera browser. I uninstalled and re-installed. It seems to be doing OK today. Don't know what will happen tomorrow.

You too? I just figured you knew all that stuff and you could work with it. I usually hate when Firefox makes changes. And it seems like as soon as I get used to the changes, they change it again!! UUGGG!! So aggravating!
