There is a new device called "ili" its a portable translator that doesn't need any wifi. You can use it to talk with locals of a country without the need of learning their language. The machine will translate everything you say. At this moment it's only available in Japanese, Mandarin and Spanish. The only negative is it cannot translate back.

But doesnt need wifi and you wont need to pronounce those words.
