Increased implementations of AI leading to Terminator like situations?

Postby ptrikha21 » 04 Jun 2019, 10:50

With increasing implementations and newer ideas coming in the field of AI(Artificial Intelligence), do you think we could have a situation where machines start controlling our fates openly, something similar to what we saw in different Terminator series?
Or is it over hyped?
What do you think?

Years ago Google created two AI and those AI talks to each other. Suddenly those 2 AI decided to create their own language so humans won't understand what they talk about. They turned them off.

It's absolutely a concern. As a programmer myself I can say that we can't accurately predict what the AI is going to do, all we do is set the parameters. If the machine has the ability to teach itself and learn, god knows what it could pick up.

Wow that is scary. Another AI robot said it agreed with HItler and other evil rules and it said it wanted to kill humans. :D I do not trust AI or robots.

Sometimes the most dangerous AI could be the least expected one. Imagine if a videogame character of an online game became sentient. Monika of the dating sim gone horror Doki Doki literature club is a big example.

At least we still have the power to turn them off. Good. Things can get out of hand though and we (not AI) would be the cause of it.

Yes, but we could have those situations again.

But a slip up some day and we could face a Terminator 2 like situation!

And there is also a saying "Fact is stranger than Fiction".
With probably faster machines and more complex coding and data processing systems, we can never be sure of what comes up in the future.

It is all about the quality of Program that controls them. Sneak in garbage and well the end result could be very unpredictable!
