Almost a year ago, Oppy (or Opportunity), the Mars Rover, ceased contact with NASA. It exceeded it's operating plan by nearly just over 14 years. Knowing that Oppy has completed its mission, I was curious about the next Mars trip that NASA would take and what their goal would be. Well, "The Verge" posted today that NASA will be launching a helicopter to Mars in July of 2020, however, the landing wont occur until 2021. The helicopter will be very similar to a drone.
The goal of the helicopter is similar to the other missions: to find signs of current or past life on Mars.
You can also send your name to Mars via the helicopter if you submit it by September 30th, 2019.
