Relationship psychologists have warned that obsession with robots could lead to marital breakdown. One reasoning is that with the ability to mimic human emotions, these androids could evoke strong feelings of love in humans.

In an interview with Daily Star Online, Marriage psychologist Dr. Becky Spelman has said, "...robots are designed to emulate human beings to an extraordinary degree, and may trigger feelings of love, protection, anger, and more..."

What though are your thoughts on these robot-human relations? Could this be a sign of something more serious?

Robots are very helpful but you know they cannot substitute a human expression

I think robots can influence human to a great extent and people with strained relations can find solace in them but that would be that. There is no possibility human will start marrying with robots in near future. :lolno:

This is true Jaspreet and it appears we have a new breed of humans too, for whom this lack of expression works just fine.

I know some people with THAT kind of attitude will find kind of attachment or stay with SUCH robots for hours but.... let me think what would happen next! My wildest of imagination cannot get me anywhere beyond that point

 I don't doubt it. I heard about the school administrator Akihiko Kondo who married his Gatebox Virtual Robot. He reportedly spent two million yen on the wedding ceremony and matching rings. Forty people attended the ceremony (of course none were family members - they refused to attend). Around the time of Kondo's marriage, Gateway claimed they have issued over 3,700 cross-dimension marriage certificates. Imagine that, so there are more people engaged in this thing? He told Japan times that he's never cheated on his robot and has always loved it (I mean her).

I saw a documentary in which they've developed a system where you can create your ideal partner. That means you get to select the features you want to make up your partner's personality (if we can call it that). Whether the robot is of a more serious or playful demeanor, you get to decide. On the outward aspect you decide on body type, hair colour, complexion, etc. One man featured in the presentation said he's happy with the innovation because he doesn't have to be stuck with the overbearing issues that come with human relations. Rather than having to put up with a nagging human, he'd now have the perfect companion made specifically according to his preference.

Nope i doubt robota facial expression could be as normal as humans. Their reactions are slower. Marraige is the trust between a couple.

Incesls dont care about that because they are afraid of real women because real women can reject them and the incels have high standards of women eventhough they are not goodlooking themselves.

Incel means Involuntary virgin.

So that means these robots could be useful to such a one. A singer put it "there's someone for everyone" and he may be onto something. Thanks for the schooling on incels. I searched and found out more after reading your comment. Apparently there's an online support group.

Its their fault why they are still virgins anyway. They are not good looking but they want supermodels hence resulting to virginity they cannot get rid of. I think media gave them unrealistic beauty standards. If you want a Barbie, Go to the gym and lift some ways to look like a GI Joe. Or lower they standard of beauty and start dating Sierra Boggess. They need to give the plane Janes a chance.

Well, the way things are going, one cannot be too sure of the future.
Trust levels are anyways down among the humans.

They should not market these robots to underpopulated countries with dying populations. They should target it to high population countries instead.

That's why the "involuntary virgin" part of the definition was a bit confusing. All this seems voluntary to me. You want a different outcome, adjust something, your expectations in this case. Barbie doesn't want you so, next!

There's probably something more going on than we can see or understand. What looks like an easy fix may not be that easy to such a one.

The fact that a spouse has turned to a robot for solace or relief already indicates problems within the relationship. Robots offer less resistance, and the type of 'relationship' they can offer may suit people who are loners and have no patience for cultivating relationships with fellow human beings.

Yes, it's true. Robots can be controlled and might be a better option for those with the urge to control. This sounds crazy but it still makes sense.
