Mandalaki recently unveiled the Birò O2, a two-seater prototype city car, made from 80% recycled plastics. On a single charge, this compact vehicle is capable of traveling 62 miles, with a top speed of 40 miles per hour.
The aim of this project is to help in dealing with the abundance of plastic waste. In an interview with Dezeen magazine, Mandalaki designer Enrico De Lotto stated, “We try to develop projects that can have a real impact on people’s lives, and not just make things that are nice to look at — projects should be functional and solve needs."
