Birò 02 Recycled Electric Car

Postby Lushh » 23 Jun 2019, 02:03

Mandalaki recently unveiled the Birò O2, a two-seater prototype city car, made from 80% recycled plastics. On a single charge, this compact vehicle is capable of traveling 62 miles, with a top speed of 40 miles per hour.

The aim of this project is to help in dealing with the abundance of plastic waste. In an interview with Dezeen magazine, Mandalaki designer Enrico De Lotto stated, “We try to develop projects that can have a real impact on people’s lives, and not just make things that are nice to look at — projects should be functional and solve needs."

Its not as cool looking as Teslas and Nissan leaf but it reminds me of a renault electric car from the mid 2000's.

I thought about Renault too. This looks similar to the Twizy which I think started sometime back there. It's the same idea somewhat, 2-seater, electric car. Only that this one is made up of mostly plastic, 80% recycled.

Seems good but only for traveling. You can't drive almost anything in it.

No, you wouldn't want to. Just needs to be used within its limits. :)

You can only use this for short term travels and not from road trip in the us from California to Texas. This is more of something you can use to pick up the groceries or and drive the kids to school.

That! Or maybe you don't need this one ;) It depends what you intend to do with it. If you live in certain city areas where you only need to do basic moving around it could be ideal. It won't work as a sports car or anything more than that though.

You can use public transportation, bike, walk, or get one of these cars for more convenience and flexibility. :D Ok, you have a point and I know it.

Good concept! Anything which reduces waste is something worth praising !

Could be good within certain city limits, and not for long highway stretches.
