How facebook ruined the career of many Youtubers

Postby Netherrealmer » 22 Aug 2019, 02:58

One of the Youtube channels I follow is Glove and Boots, It's a comedy Youtube channel with puppets.

I had been following them for 7 years and recently they suffered financially because they lost one of the best ways they promote their videos. Facebook disallows sharing Youtube videos anymore. They use to link their videos on Facebook and that gives them a lot of views but Facebook wanted to have their own video monetization program of their own so they disallowed promotion of Youtube videos. I know there are now people who makes money with Facebook videos but Facebook videos refuses to play with my internet speed.

I think they are exclusively targeting Youtubers. They also did the same to Eugenie kitchen.

Wow so they just want them to post their videos on facebook so they can make money off the views right?
facebook is so greedy. A lot of people are leaving facebook they say especially young people lately. I guess more people moved to instagram.

Yeah well they bought the site because they knew facebook was the next myspace.
I have even tried snap chat and all these other new sites. But I do like some live stream apps
better than most social media sites.

But it makes sense why facebook is trying to push
and force users to only post on their site to keep it alive.
They say this year a lot of people left facebook and it does look more quiet on there.

Yes Facebook is trying to make Facebook the next Youtube,Twitch and Netflix since it wont survive as a social media alone once the Baby Boomer and Gen ex users died off.

Number of views and subscribers. Channels with 10 thousand subscribers are eligible for monetization.

That is a bit strange. I have been sharing YouTube Links there recently and have not faced any issues so far. Does Facebook bans or warns people sharing YouTube Links?

Yes, unfortunately this is true and I'm noticing that for some time...
I have a little Youtube channel and a Facebook page for that channel.
I also have a personal facebook account and when I share my youtube videos none of my friends see it and I rarely have more than one like (normally zero likes) in my post... and then I receive a proposal from Facebook to pay them to advertise my video :(
I don't know why are they doing that... the only answer that came to my mind is...money... :(
