What are the main reasons you stop posting on a writing site or forum you once liked?

Postby sprite1950 » 16 Nov 2019, 08:23

For me it is a number of reasons.

1. The site changes rules too often making it hard to earn.
2. Not enough to post on. The site does not have enough topics so becomes stale.
3. Boredom .. it just doesn't have the appeal it used to.
4. Criticism by admin causing hesitation when posting.
5. Disagreement with a site member (although that is usually temporary and I come back when I cool off :D )

Can you identify with these reasons and are there any other reasons you will stop posting? This is not aimed at any particular site, just my personal gripes.

Lack of diversity when it comes to topics because people wants to talk about the same stuff over and over again which is going on with Mylot.

All the 4 points as above and 5th point does not applies to me because I never had any problems with any members and if they come in my way then I try to take another route

The main reason is I am afraid i do not have that much skill, ability, knowledge and command over the language. Secondly it will be painful if the administration rejects my post . Another reason is, it hurts a lot if I get negative remarks, comments and reputation for my post. All these reasons provokes me to stop posting on a writing site or forum I once liked.

It made me sad to read that but I can say there is nothing wrong with the post you have just written. You should have more confidence in yourself ... and practice makes perfect so keep going <3

Irregular payment or postponing the payments for no apparent reasons and the indifferent, immature or biased behavior of the Admin or the moderator of the site makes me sick and I may keep myself away from the site for few days!

I don't like when a website delays payment or the admin don't reply to my messages on time because it shows how unprofessional a website is and can demolish anytime.

My top reason would be if the site is no longer paying. My main reason for posting in a site is to earn some money.

Number 1 reason for me is when a site stops paying, I will stop work immediately no need wasting my time on it and again, when the admin becomes too strict and criticize every little post I will just believe it's time for me to move over.

I will leave once I find out that the website is a fraud. Moreover, if the admin is rude and you can't address your concerns to him/her.

I use to be a writer for Upwork and I quit it because I am tired of dropping my price just to get booked. Also I made more money from teaching online. Also Upwork have fees now.

That is one of my main reasons too. It would be a waste of time to work on such sites since you will surely not get paid by them.

If a website keep running different contests on the website then there will be no problems and everyone will post without stopping.

I've just realised that another reason for me is when I feel I cannot contribute in a valuable way to a site any more. When I feel I have reached the end of the road and my efforts are not what they are looking for.

One reason I stop posting is when they start finding excuses not to pay or take away coins for no reason other than they do not want to pay. I could make great content for any site. But I would need to be paid. It's why I mostly just make content now for my facebook page, as I can make more money off that in the end. But I do enjoy chatting online. So I will always be on paid to post forums not matter what. But in the end I think it's important to write good content. AS many sites have new rules they want better content. So I guess this will inspire people to be better writers.

Yeah that is one of my reasons too. If they start acting like that you need to start being suspicious of the site.

So far for me forumcoin has been friendly, they are prompt in their payments, they always reply to messages, i cannot say that i have had a bad experience while here. If i stop posting it's probably because i have no extra time to come and post thats probably the only reason.
