Robot doctor

Postby mrki444 » 17 Dec 2019, 18:09

The world views China as a country of poor people, with great repression against the people and a small amount of rich people. However, we must admit that they are technologically highly developed and very often the first to test things that we think will be reality in the future. At the University of China, one robot was officially licensed to operate as doctor. Many believe that robot licensing for many other purposes will soon be introduced.

What do you think about the robot doctor? Would you trust him immediately or would you go for a second opinion?

Yes, I would trust the robot doc to give a reliable diagnosis based on what info I provided. I think they said it's not intended to replace actual doctors though. In any case it's always a good idea to get a second opinion even when diagnosed by a human.

In many cases robots are more objective than people. Doctor can skip some sympthon. It is in human nature to make mistakers. Robot has less chances if it works normal and don't have errors in sensors or programs.

AI is the future. Time will come humans in work places will be replaced by robots. As much as I wanted to trust their capabilities, I don’t think I can. I’d rather go to a human doctor

I think it's reliable with thousands hundreds of cases input as experience.
Human judgement not always right, and the human doctor always push for the extreme end, ask to go for further and expensive test or scope most of the time.

How about some combination? Robot will diagnose and recomend procedure. Human doctor will confirm it.
