Giant 3d printers that can build houses and buildings

Postby Netherrealmer » 24 Dec 2019, 17:38

Once Again Robots and automation will steal more jobs and this time for construction workers. The number of human employees needed on the operation is around 1 to 3 based from what I saw on this video. I am fascinated on the technology because it can be useful for making buildings in places like Mars since the scientists who will be sent there are not experienced construction workers but a machine can solve that but yeah this is another sign that Automation will make a lot of jobs obsolete. So time to make your kids learn robotics because it's the job of the future.

That little man power to operate such big thing? I never imagined construction jobs would be taken over too but after learning of the driverless trucks for delivery, then well... So right about getting in line with where we are heading. Learn or get left behind in a world that no longer exists.

You draw design in some program and left it to printer make it. Later you just take few people to assemble all parts. Prefabricated houses are very popular now.

I like this idea. You can print parts at your own home if you have big enough printer and space. But, I would not like castle. It is to big for cleaning.

I can think of two possibilities- rampant and more widespread unemployment and anarchy, or new unexpected jobs around these things.
Would robots and machines also be expert in repairing all kind of things? That would take time.
But yes, we have to get ready for a different world.

Every new tech will bring these consequences, except anarchy. Anarchy would be if all machines stop working.

For everything wee need time. Most often first models have many flaws, but with time it will be fixed.

Wow, how neat! You can only feel sorry for those in construction because that technology will certainly take away MANY job opportunities.

It is not just one group of people. Everybody want lower price so in this questions customers have big role to.
Question for you: You want buy product. Cheaper version is made in factory full of robots. Expensive version is made by humans workers. Would would you buy? Before answer include this: Products have exact quality and you will buy 100 products.

Yes, we are there now. Hard work definitely doesn't necessarily mean success and we see this all around.

I guess many companys already use 3D printed parts in building homes. Probably not all parts or entire home at once, but part is made on 3D printer.

I think this is awesome yet I do wonder how bad this will affect the construction industry. I don't see this being an issue in recent times, but in the future everything might just be automatic. You'll still need to have some human element mixed in, computers aren't perfect and someone would need to be there to make sure the printer is working properly.
