Likely impact of a worldwide conflict on Online sites?

Postby ptrikha21 » 05 Jan 2020, 13:44

Currently, a lot of countries across the globe have some or the other conflict. There are some regional and local ones, but some like between Iran and US have tremendous disruptive effect, especially after the recent developments. There is some tension on Indian borders too, due to devious forces across the Indian borders.
China has some tensions in South China sea. Middle East is always tense.
While normally, these tensions go up and down, I was wondering if we have a major conflict? Or World War III?
Would Online sites keep working as it is?

If Nation A and B are at war, how would their members interact on the sites? What impact would it have? or would the sites be down for a few months and then re-emerge?
And what in case things go nuclear? Well a bit hard to imagine!

I had lots of problems with Internet access last night and earlier during the say and we're not having a worldwide conflict. I can only imagine what would happen if there was a worldwide conflict.

I think it can since many Money informations about war will be high ranked than others. It will aftect to advertisers and those will affect to us since we earn from them.

Things would get back to normal but sporadic cyber attacks or terror attacks.

I am not sure but I heard recent things happening are already affecting sites online as it is.
So I just hope things do not get worse. Hopefully the money just keeps flowing in to us.

Well may be, things would settle down, but still some war rhetoric talk between different nations.

Yes, fake news do make things appear far worse.
Some time back, I was watching a news channel, and their news made it appear that we would soon have a worldwide conflict.

Yes, and detecting fake news spreading such lies makes things tougher.

While nothing is for sure, but nations do see the overall cost and end results. Wars may result in treaties and sometimes peace, but they incur a lot of cost in terms of lives lost, ammunition, costs and damages.
So, sane people avoid wars. But what if a sane person turns insane? Well, we cannot say!

Well in as much I wouldn't want to see conflict online but if it does happen I think it might not augur well for us. Such sites might ban the ips from the conflict countries and make the site inaccessible to alot of people from the war country. I hope this doesn't happen though.

I hate to think what could happen, so naturally, we can only pray and hope it doesn't get to that. But there's currently so much strife across the world right now, it's just scary.
