The answer... it all depends on the shark (or octopus) of the moment. :) Trying to make your getaway at 2.7 mph will make you the laughing stock of the ocean though. Ask any creature in the marine world, lol. It is said that you're better off turning around and facing the shark if it starts circling you, rather than splashing off in a panic. Regarding giant octopus, the answer is: no escape. Anything that tries to take down an eagle cannot be trusted. ;)

Could be... some of these inventions are from individuals with a background in same. It seems like fun to use around in a large swimming pool. Do you think it would help in teaching children to swim?

So much for predator protection during snorkeling. So basically the speed it provides is not enough to escape a shark. Oh well at least it looks fun.

Not to children than to grow up people. Many people are scared to dive. We could also send grabage from below to surface to clean sea.

Right! The only 'predator' protection at sea is to stay out of the water. :D Yeah, it's not too fast but I've heard of one that goes 13 miles per hour. Even then it wouldn't be enough to out run a shark trying to get you.

It would give more confidence in diving I guess. Maybe it would be difficult to use in cleaning the sea because we'll need both hands? I'm thinking that we'd want to grab as much while under water and because we'd also have to hang on to the scooter handle it would be a hindrance. What do you say?

But we can connect full bag of garbage and drag it at surface. Divers don't have to drag it only with his power.
