Recently I notice a lot of Chinese videos are trending on Youtube, The production is really Good and they have English subtitles. The channels are monetized too. AT first I thought these are Hong Kong or Taiwan channels because Youtube is banned in Mainland China but the channels are from mainland China.


It is either they use VPN or the videos are filmed in China but uploaded in Hong Kong. Then I realized these videos are Propaganda videos pretending to be cooking and travel shows. Chinese government makes them to portray China in positive light since we know how bad their reputation is with how they treat Hong Kong and threats against Taiwan.

This is quite an interesting observation. The truth can be hard to find at times. Meanwhile, we can just enjoy the videos!!

There's a Chinese news channel that uses American, British, etc. anchors (kind of like Russia's RT).

This is so sad. I look at China and compare it with Hong Kong and I know which I'd rather NOT visit. But do they think we're stupid? We can all see through the whole publicity stunt

Well the pro china propaganda channels seemed to be doing well because of the likes and positive comments from non Chinese. At least they are better than the wumaos.
