This is one of those futuristic vision technologies predicted to be among us 10 to 50 years from now. These are called Pod planes. They are airplanes with 3 detachable pods.

They are like the Airplane versions of container vans. We know container vans are delivered via ships


Then they can be attached to trucks.


In case of Pod airplanes, the pods are detachable as they can convert into boats and buses. Clip airlines is planning to develop the single pod plane in the next 10 years then make the triple pod planes in the next 50 years. I want to know what do you think of this technology. Imagine these planes can hold more passengers.

They'd be ideal for cargo, cutting the cost of long-distance shipping. It seems like this will take much more than 10 years to go commercial though. I'm fascinated by the design and the whole concept - that's for sure!

Currently cargo is much cheaper transport with railroad than with planes, even if take longer time. Planes are used only for interncontinental transport across oceans.

What will it take to get engine for flying cars? I'm curious about the type of engine and how this will work.

the problem will be to get that much passenger for a single flight. they are good for freight specially perishable ones.
