Apple got fined for an update that ruins old Iphones

Postby Netherrealmer » 26 Feb 2020, 12:21

I don't know why many people prefers Iphone over Androids, Iphone is nothing but status symbol but they are not durable. They have planned obsolescence so you will buy new models. Apparently in France, Apple got sued because they made updates for older Phones that makes it slower so people will buy new ones. They sabotage their own products for more profit because they know people will buy a new one so they will have their designer status symbol.

I have been an Apple user for years and I somewhat agree with you. It's all about money. The reason why I chose this over Android is because it's easier to use.

Android is at least cheap, they have an excuse to suck. Apple is expensive they have no excuse to suck.

You know, my husband and I are huge fans of Apple products. But this seriously annoyed us so much our next phones may be a different brand. NOT COOL.

Even Android phone makers look like indulging in multiple updates, with motives which look a bit dishonest.

I think you could be right there because devices and electronics used to last so much longer. These days as soon as you cross the 1-year warranty mark, things start to go wrong. Very curious

But then product should be suck from start. This way is great for a year and later you can barely use it.

BTW we have the option to disable updates. If we are happy how the phone runs, disable automatic updates

Was the update really designed for old phones?
Why update an old phone? The new updates are usually designed for newer phones with higher capacity and specs. Thus the old phones can't handle the new versions.

It also happened in Android. I had an old phone that was working fine but since I always get nagged by messages that the older version will no longer work properly so an update is necessary... the update rendered my phone useless.

Ok... this reminded me of some of the so-called computer technicians that would recommend upgrading the PC OS to Windows 10 to a 2010 or earlier model computers. These computers have only about 1 GHZ processors and 2GB RAM. Imagine that.. hehehe

I have also heard this news. A brand like APPLE is into such thing is hard to believe.
