Hey guys! I am planning to buy a laptop that can handle video editing tasks. The videos that would be editedbare most likely to be 1080p. Can you guys give me some recommendations?

I never realized we need different types of laptops to edit videos and believe there are softwares to do it.

I'd recommend Lenovo's gaming laptops. Budget may be a little medium to high but those laptops are good for video editing with RAM more than 8GB, you are pretty much set. Avoid HP laptops for such things as they tend to have heating issue as is.

What do you recommend should be the specs of laptops that is going to be primarily used for video editing. Also thanks for the tip about hp. I will scratch that off my list.

If Video editing, then make sure to have atleast 8 to 12 GB RAM. If you can get graphic card of around 2GB that would be good too. And yes harddisk should be minimum 500 GB.

As you already know, laptops come with different specs. Some brands design their laptops for different applications, e.g. office works, gaming, multi-media, etc...

The higher spec requirements, the higher the price.
