The first functioning integrated circuit

Postby elena28 » 12 Mar 2020, 13:48

This thing might not look like much, but it had huge repercussions on the technological world. This was the first-ever successful, functioning integrated circuit that the inventor, Jack Kilby, described as “a body of semiconductor material… wherein all the components of the electronic circuit are completely integrated.” The US Air Force was the first to buy this product.

Integrated Circuits IC is the mother of all computing, this looks a primitive design, I would have literally ignored such a design if I were buy it. It is altogether a powerful piece of invention, that has since been highly condenced into a very small micro chip that can contain millions of them.
