I think I know the reason why VR is still not very maintream in gaming.

VR only works for 1st person camera games.

You know those games where you cannot see the character, You only see their hand or weapon. People who prefers these games because they become the character. The character is their avatar.

VR doesn't work for games with 3rd person Camera. I like 3rd person Camera for story telling and cinematic experience. I don't really see characters as extension of myself. I see them as characters. The point VR is to become the character. You won't become the character in 3rd person camera.

Most male players of Resident will rather see Ada Wong in 3rd person if they control her over 1st person.

In first person camera I will only see her hands. In 3rd person they can see her on that tight red dress.

It's a crime to see Ada Wong in first person, someone this hot should be in 3rd person camera.

Last reason is Motion sickness. I swear I feel like vomiting and I feel dizzy after 35 minutes of VR. They need to do something to make sure players wont get dizzy.

Personally, I prefer 1st person over 3rd for most games. I can see the appeal for 3rd person in story-telling games but not much for action. I've not gotten the chance to play VR on a game console or PC though, only on my phone.

I have the same problem - motion sickness. I cannot even play 3d games for a long time so I think VR is also not for me.

Sounds like you need Pornhub. Then you can get back to playing COD in first person. ;)

I am not really a call of duty guy, I am more of a Resident evil, Uncharted, Assasin's creed, silent hill ,Tomb Raider ,Devil May Cry and evil within kind of guy. I like 3rd person camera the most. I can resonate more with character with faces that I can see. I am more into story driven games.

When I start read article I remember how COD was first person game all time and I wonder what is problem. I mean, it was popular many years ago. But looks it is to much for VR. Many people report sickens of using VR or they need time to adopt eyes and brain to VR.

Fair enough. Could never get on with third person games. In Skyrim, I end up using first person view.

True. They are trying ways to remove that.

I don't think the eyes would like to adapt in an unnatural state. Our eyes shift quickly when we want to see something on the left or on the right. The VR needs to be modified and should act like our eyes.

I think VR would be very expensive in third world countries hence its unpopularity in third world countries.
