China bans usernames in online videogames!

Postby Netherrealmer » 15 Apr 2020, 18:04

If you are a citizen of mainland China, You are not allowed to use usernames on your registration anymore. You must now have to use your real name!!

Why because of the game Animal Crossing. Animal crossing is game where you are the Mayor of a city where residents are animals and you will develop the city for the residents.

Well Many Chinese players, Had designed houses with signs that says "free Hong kong" and " China is responsible for corona"

Image

There are also players who designed their houses with Winnie the Pooh which hurts the feelings of Winnie the President. So he now forces all gamers to use their real names as usernames so players wont do anonymous protest anymore. That is also their rules for forums!!!

China needs to stop their war against freedom of speech because the more they try to make people speechless the more people will rebel.

It's funny how babies learn to say NO before they learn to say YES. Sometimes I wonder if certain country leaders learned the word BAN before they learned the word FREEDOM. :?

Animal crossing is one of those games with no violence and people play it to relax and they just banned it for hurting the feelings of Pooh bear. This game is so wholesome grandmas play it.

That's just sad. I mean to what extent will China go to control its people? Like you say, the game is just a way for people to relax and escape their daily stresses. What harm could they possibly do??

@Angie10 - But don't you know? Video games encourage violent behavior? That's why I watch television. Have you watched "How to Get Away With Murder"?

@fergus1234 - I happen to really like Winnie the Pooh. Why is the leader of China even associated with Winnie the Pooh? :?

That is for sure a way to have more control over people's actions but I don't know if it is legal request something like that. Is that for all games?

It's really sad that we are in 2020 and many countries still don't have freedom of speech even in innocent games like these.

Yeah Animal crossing is so "violent" It makes people hates Winnie the pooh more.
Image This game is very popular to grandmas and moms and China see it as a threat.

He banned Pooh because of Memes indicating he looks like him. He should have embraced it instead and people would have loved him but he is such a snowflake.

Well people like living in a small village with cute animals, go fishing, plant and harvest vegetable and flowers etc. It is very relaxing especially to the elderly people.
