Tell me about your smartphone

Postby TeacherAngel » 16 Apr 2020, 04:18

I am currently using Vivo Y71. However, it fell while I was riding a tricycle and it is a miracle that it still works. Anyway, after we are done paying for our A3 printer, I am planning on getting a new one so I am looking for suggestions as the reviews I have been reading online are inconsistent.

I do not have much budget for a high end phone so the latest iPhone model is definitely out of the question. Just to give you an idea, I love a phone with a decent camera as I like taking photos with my phone. I love long battery life which is what I love from my old phone which was the Lenovo 5000 I think?

What I don't like about my Vivo Y71 is that I cannot move apps from the phone memory to my external memory card so it is always warning me about low phone memory. That was not the case about my old Lenovo so I think there are some Android phones wherein moving apps to the external memory card is possible. I am also not satisfied with its camera.

Will you please tell me about your phone? What phone are you using? How long have you been using it? What do you like most about it? What don't you like about it?

I am still using my Meizu M3S if that is the right name  . It is a china phone and I bought it online when I was grade 11. That was 3 years ago. I think I only bought it for 3500 philippine peso or about 70 USD? It was pretty good for the price range.

Specs:
5inch display
Octa-core
2gb ram
16gb rom
Andriod Lollipop
3020 mah battery
5 mp front 13mp rear

I bought it because that it was what I could afford as a highschool student. It was great for the price considering the specification.

Since it is already 3 years old, it laggs almost everytime I use it  . Good thing I have a Samsung tablet now.

I am using iPhone XR. It has a better camera quality compared to my previous phone which is 6s Plus. I find the iPhone easier to use. However, it doesn't have a lot of amazing features, though.

@mrki444: Thanks, I think Xiaomi is available here in the Philippines and that is a reasonable price for a good phone! Anything about it that you don't like or does it get a perfect 10?

@brnrd: That's really affordable considering the specs. I am not familiar with the brand, though.

@freelancemariagrace: You're not allowed to share files with Android Phones with your iPhone, right?

I'm using Huawei P30 lite. It could fly across the room and land intact and without a scratch! Hehe, my 2-year old son threw it a number of times already and still got no scratch on it. It has a good camera (triple rear cams) and great cam AI too.

Plus it comes with 128GB internal memory. I did not even bother to put an additional memory. The only downside is, it's not dual SIMM

With the P40 series coming out already, the price of the p30 series may have dropped already.

That is totally true. Factory reset will not do a thing  . But you are right, 100$ for a smartphone that lasted for 2 years is a good deal, that is like 50$ per year.

Bad side is not removable battery. In case if it is something wrong you can't get it out. It must go into authorized service for first two years while waranty is acitve.

@johnl0626: Sounds like a good phone. I am considering it now as an option. How much was it?
@Nela: Can you move apps from its internal memory to the external memory card?
@brnrd: Oh, I see. I also bought my Lenovo phone from Lazada. Well, actually, my sister bought it for me but that's another matter. :D
@mrki44: Oh, OK. My current phone has a built-in battery too.

It was priced around PHP16K in the market when it came out. But I got mine through my Globe subscription. I needed the data anyway.

I think you can still move data from phone memory to an SD card. At least, it did that on my previous Huawei phone. On this one though, I did not bother inserting an SD card. The 128GB internal memory is still more that enough for me. I think I'm using only about 60% to 70% for now.

@johnl0626: Yup, definitely more than enough even with numerous apps. Thanks for the information!

My son has been installing his games on my phone every day. I'm letting him do so for now because of the quarantine... so far my phone is not complaining... :D

Haha! Your phone will complain soon. I also have a niece who owns my phone now. She plays with it all through and only allows me to have it when I am receiving a call.

I'm on an iPhone but to be honest, all I do on it is mainly text/WhatsApp/ makes and receive calls. It's really wasted on me because I don't make anywhere near as much use of it as I could. Sometimes I'll use some of the apps on it like the weather, Google, Facebook, Messenger, my UK Metro newspaper, the currency exchange, the calculator and the camera. Oh, I also recently downloaded the Fiverr app onto it. I see so many other functions on it but just don't bother.
