I remember when I first started seeing smartphones. Originally I was thinking "what the heck is that?". It hardly looked like a cell phone. It didn't even have a keypad.

It didn't take long before I owned one myself, however. Now my old flip phone looks primitive and ancient.

What do you think mobile phones will look like 10 years from now?

Will they just be more advanced smartphones or something entirely different?

i think will not change a lot... but more powerfull and fast... like the computers

This is something I have not really thought of yet. The biggest change I am seeing now is similar shaped phones but better speed and power or more memory for storage. Almost like mini computers really. I did notice some increase their screen size though. My boyfriend has the newest Samsung Note, that is way to big for me! My phone is big enough.

Day by day technology is changing very fast . The model and design we saw 6 months before is not existing now . Now we have android phone with lot of facilities in which we can send videos, photos, and also can use it as a mini pc. So no idea about 10 years from now. May be we may get still more advanced mobiles with some more facilities making our communication still fast and easy

Ha, a flip phone doesn't look nearly as primitive as the HUGE boxes we used to call mobile phones. They were gigantic and looked like big old walkie-talkies or something, with great big antennas and stuff. They have come a long way. I'm sure smartphones will continue to change to the point that some day we'll look back at what we have now and laugh.

At the rate that technology is going I have no idea I have never really thought about it but I think it could be much smaller and more powerful than it is now

Who knows where advances in technology will see the direction of mobile phones ten years from now up to 10 years! I can only guess they'll get faster and a bit more advanced. I think in terms of size, they'll go both ways; some will be bigger, while others may be ridiculously small. It's definitely going to be interesting to see!

In the next 10 years, I am sure we will see changes in cell phone, but what it will look like, I don't know. Would it still look like a cell phone? Do we still need a cell phone? Already, the phone can function with our voice command so can't imagine what else it can do in the next year!

Mobile phones will be wearable. That is the direction we are headed. All gadgets whether it is a phone, health device or whatever it is will be somewhere on your body. People will look very futuristic like someone in a movie.

Maybe it will be built-in our bodies - like a micro chip! But I think I wouldn't like to experience that.

I imagine them like modern hearing aids that fit inside your ear canal and are controlled like an eye-gaze machine (in use today), so you won't even know if someone is using one or not.

They are already so big that they don't look like phones! I wonder how people manage to use it.. A phone should be easy to handle unlike the big giant phablets handling them carefully itself is a big task. Or I feel it will be something integrated or a system of multiple gadgets like a phone, a smart watch, a smart ear phone, etc, could be called a 'phone' !!

The thought made me laugh for a second as an image of a phone as big as the tv popped up in my mind. We started with heavy sets like nokia 3310 later slimmed down to samsung than started expanding with note and tabs, next I am afraid will be wall phones with a remote for operating it!

That reminds me of a comment I once saw that compared those large smartphones to trying to talk on a piece of toast.

I think that there will be some extremely small phones for convenience and very large phones for functionality! Most smartphones have a "mini" version already for people who want something highly mobile and a regular version for people who want the most features possible.
