You can hug a person with aids and sleep next to them and not get infected. You will only get infected via blood transfusion and unsafe sex but unsafe sex will be a thing of the past if Pep and Prep will become cheaper. A person with aids that takes a pep pill will not infect their partner during condomless sex. A person with no aids that takes prep will not have aids if they have sex with a person with Aids. So Married people with Aids with uninfected partner can have a Normal life now if they can afford them.

I feel Covid 19 vaccine is the need of hour and I hope it hits the market soon. As far as the Prep and Pep medicine that you mentioned is concerned, is it the antiretroviral medicine that you are talking about. Antiretroviral therapy is used to treat HIV patients who have not progressed to full-blown AIDS patient. In medical lingo, it is also known as highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART). HAART decreases the patient's total burden of HIV, maintains function of the immune system, and prevents opportunistic infections that often lead to death. HAART also prevents the transmission of HIV between same sex and opposite sex partners so long as the HIV-positive partner maintains an undetectable viral load. It can be also used as prophylactic treatment for a person who's had unprotected sex with a person suspected to be HIV +ve. The prophylactic treatment has to be started within 24 hours of intercourse, if I am not mistaken.

I will never understand the selfish mindset that creates a medicine only for the rich. I was at a pharmacy one time picking up meds for my husband. The elderly couple in front of me was asking about a prescription the doctor had given. When the druggist told them the price, the old man looked at his wife and said "Let's go home." They both looked so sad. I was so disgusted!

Church may have something to do with making it expensive. If Prep and Pep are cheap, Lots of people will be sexually promiscuous because the fear of STD is gone. PEP and Prep is now favored in Porn over condoms.

It is a difference between communicable and non-communicable disease.
HIV is mostly non-communicable except for a few circumstances or situations, yet Covid-19 is highly communicable like Flu, TB etc.

Well at the moment i think scientists are working really hard to finish the Covid 19 vaccine, I mean a lot of people have lost their lives because of it and it keeps spreading everyday, that's my opinion though but if I where a scientist I would be working hard to create the Covid Vaccine.

I did not know that Pep and prep are that expensive. I even thought that they are given freely in hospitals here in my country. I will check on that.
For now, the corona vaccine seem like a priority for most people. They have for a while forgotten about the HIV vaccine that is underway.
