The reason? Only 10 percent of users use it. Here is the thing though, Community captions had been helpful for deaf people to enjoy Youtube videos and Youtube is removing it. That is not all, Many Non English channels had a global following because their fans give community captions. Community captions are captions created by volunteers and fans because Youtube's automatic Google translate captions sucks. It doesn't understand certain slangs, accents and rare words. 10 percent is still Milions of People. Community captions is the reason why I can enjoy a non English european channel.

There is no reason to remove it but Susan felt like being an A-hole again.



There are now Asian Tv shows created for Youtube and those shows rely on community captions because Youtube's automatic captions with Google translate is terrible.

This will kill the Asian and European channels with International following.

Why on Earth would they do that? Like how would that even benefit them? I can't understand the logic behind this decision.

Better they remove ads from start. If this was volunteer there is no reason to remove it. It don't eat their resources. Like they try drive away users.

Susan is horriible. She does not care about anyone but herself.
She is very selfish for doing this. NOt that I watch other langauges on there.
But for the people who do, this was a great and useful tool.

Well that sucks. But there is still time to change Youtube's decision in eradicating community captions. Perhaps, they might hear the people's plea and reconsider their decision.

There is now a petition to save community captions for the sake of deaf people but its up to Susan if she will listen with deaf ears to this issue. She claims to be inclusive....
