After british scientist publish news how on Venus is possible life, space community become mouch more active.

As reminder, using telescops in Mexico and Chile, scientis discover trace of phosphane in not small quantity which may be the product of living organisms.

Day after Dmitry Rogozin, the first man of the Russian space agency Roscosmos, commenting on the new discovery said that Venus is a 'Russian planet'. As a basis for this claim, he points out that Russia (the Soviet Union) was the first to send a space probe to Venus. He stated that even the United States calls Venus a Soviet planet, because the Soviet Union has a great advantage over other countries in exploring Venus.

Russia send about 15 missions on Venus and US only 7.

What do yout think about this statement from Russia?

Colonizing Venus is one of Nasa's plan, they already develop a carbon fiber balloon that is immune to sulfuric acid. So balloon cities in the coolest part of Venusian atmosphere is possible.

From What I know Russia is more interested on Venus and Europa than Mars since Mars have too much competition.

For Europa few more agency have plans since it has biggest oceans. Goal is check water on it. But they find some asteorid or planetoid in asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter which become more interested than Europe.

The challenge on reaching Europa is the Asteroid belt. It's a part of the solar system that is full of asteroids from the size of a sand to the size half of earth, Evading these asteroids can be a hard challenge.

True. We don't have any good protection even for micrometeors. Big ones would crash ships to easy. We need shields.

Once they solve that problem, they wont be limited to Europa, Ganymede and Callisto. They can also target Saturn moons like Titan and Enceledus.

Great. Next thing would be better engine (drive). We need faster ships and different type of fule since current took a lof of space and it is very heavy.

Not just startup. Caterpillar is one of the most popular companys in working equpiment and they already develop some prototypes for mining Moon. They can just adopt that equipment for mining asteroids.

Venus has so much of Toxic environment, besides being hot.
The statements and counter statements do not look that meaningful to me.
However, I feel that rather than exploring Venus, Space Scientists and researchers should focus on Mars and may be colonizing Moon, although there are challenges galore for those two as well.

Mining asteroids seems so much of Science Fiction as of now. Yet it could be a reality may be 30-40 years down the line.

I actually prefer Europa over Mars. Why? Europa have oceans! Callisto and Ganymede have oceans too. The colonizing of Venus became a plan of Russia after they discovered Venus' sweet spot, A part of its atmosphere that is Earth like. Thats why they want to try making Balloon cities.

I think two two have oceans but 15km below ice surface. All current rowers could not make hole deep few meters, only few centimeters. It will take time until we tech possible drill deeper holes.
