Damaged VGA cable

Postby mrki444 » 19 Sep 2020, 06:05

In my school we have big number of projectors, like 10 pieces. Most of them still use VGA cable for connect projector to PC or laptop. During several years many of those cables are damaged. It didn't broke, it just send pinky image and not blue. Or it just lose connection. We have around 10 meters of that cable in several small parts, maybe even more. I will know exact number next week.

What can I do with that much damaged cable? Is there way to fix them?

Are you sure it is the cable that is causing the issue? Might be worth trying a good cable, on a projector that has an issue, just to confirm that it is being caused by the cable.

Sorry I don't have the experience to answer your question, there are lots of videos on YouTube related to "VGA cable repair". Perhaps they can help you, or maybe the most economical way to resolve the issue would be to replace the cables.

Whenever we buy new cable, projector start working good and send blue picture. So it is problem in cable. Also same cable don't work on old and new projector (we did that just for test).

Problem is we buy every time new cable and this old ones we have many now.

VGA can be repaired. If you can see a good engineer that know about it over there, I believe they should be able to do it. Besides you can learn how to repair it from the engineer

Yes it can be but in VGA cables are to many very tiny wires and nobody don't want to do it for low price. Price is higher than new cable so everybody just buy new.
