Israel is developing a road that charges electric vehicles

Postby Netherrealmer » 21 Oct 2020, 07:54

So Israel is developing this special road where if you own an electric vehicle and you drive on it, the friction will charge your vehicle. This road is designed for electric buses from now. These wireless charger roads will look green in color. So basically if you will drive in this road, it will be cool doing it while your battery is low. It's amazing that a country in the middle east is trying to be oil free since most of them are either oil producers or oil dependent. If you drive through the greenline your battery will be charged.

Oh wow, that's very advanced technology! But you know, I'm not at all surprised there's such technology coming out of Israel - these people are seriously innovative! They will need to build a huge network of these wireless charger roads though, otherwise the electric cars would for the most part be restricted to inner city areas where the roads are. BUT it's very commendable indeed. Thanks for sharing :)

Why am i not surprised given that the middle east has some very unique stuff going on there. This is innovation at it's best, i can bet you everyone would want to own an electric car and ditch petrol for good.

Many people avoid buying electric cars not only because they are quite expensive but also because its battery doesn't allow them to make many kilometers, this road will solve this problem. The next problem to solve is electric cars' prices, that should be more affordable.

It's impressive but it sounds scary. It probably won't happen but the first thing I thought about was driving in the rain. Will the roads still have friction? I'm a non-scientist. I get to ask stupid questions.

Israel is a desert so they won't have that issue. American Deserts like Arizona or Nevada can use this.

Maybe somebody should add something like dynamo for bicycle lights on car wheels. In that case batterys could be charged on every road.

Not sure American politicians can appreciate its value. They don't even understand the value of green energy or obtaining energy from renewable sources.

I think Israel is more advanced in their technology than they let the world know. ;)

Wow that's really impressive, that would be a big blow to oil producing countries some depend on the profits they make from selling oil.

Could this be reason for new tension on Middle East? Israel opponents are Saudi Arabia and especially Iran which are oil dependent.

This is not specifically on point but it is a related topic.

I am impressed with the inroads that Amazon is making in this field. It's my understanding that they are converting their fleet of delivery trucks into all electric vehicles. Of course all of this is in an effort to save the planet and the fact that Jeff Bezos takes climate change very seriously and is willing to invest his own dollars to do something about it.

Hold on! Yes. I'm about to make a statement about politics.

You see ... Jeff Bezos KNOWS that just because you have a president who poo poos real science, that doesn't mean you, the American citizen and a citizen of the world, must also ignore it. After all a president isn't only in office for a few years whereas you will still be living on the planet earth after the POTUS is long gone!

That's why I keep telling people ... you do not have to wait for the government to do things that are needed, in order for you to get something done that is necessary!
