Parler - free speech social network

Postby mrki444 » 24 Dec 2020, 20:31

Since Twitter and Facebook, as main social network, more and more control what people say, ban them or report to goverment, we got new social network - Parler.

Image

Parler guarantees freedom of speech to all users. I think this statement will not last long. First center is in Nevada, US, so main goverment is US. Second even number users grow they are still small and if they become to big goverment will start watch them more carefuly and maybe they fall under the pressure of politics.

Did we got some good competition or just another short time popular network?

There is no such thing as freedom or free speech. You still have to abide by the government's law. Your freedom and free speech are dictated by the government.

Hmm I'll reserve my comment for now. I'll keep the site in mind and keep my ear to the ground, watch from the sidelines and then form an informed opinion over time. I think it's too early to gauge anything to do with the site at this stage.

Yes that is how it works. But I am surprised which people went outside FB and twitter? must be right wing considering all social networks are owned by left wing. in fact moderators who are left wingers tend to delete comments of right wingers i even experience this in this forum too.

Not sure for FB but Twitter decide will not allow any paid campaings about elections. Also many tweets were deleted because of probability of fake news.

Twitter is den of left wing politics. They pander to SJWs and Left wing people. Everything they do is pro left. For example their fact checker is also pro left wing which is visible too.

Looks for promotion of non left side you must go to forums or smaller networks. Or some anonymus networks.

Yep the thing is that twitter and facebook specifically turned out to be so stern against non-left they started banning free speech. And they came out in power giving excuse of free speech. the irony.

I don't think they will last long - Apple send them warning - remove content related to Trump and his supporters otherwise app will be moved from AppStore. This will show are they truly free speach or not.

I think I am on enough social sites. I don't think I will be joining anymore of them and this one seems like it will be a huge disappointment later.

Wow!!! Merkel and french goverment are on Trump side!
They defending him against Twitter and other social media platforms. They think medial platforms should not close his accounts since there is thousands people who do same thing and they didn't block them. Trump is not guilty because he is popular and people follow him.
Merkel and French ministers think medial platform took to much in their hands but take right on free speech.

Wow, could you be any more jubilant LOL?!  If I may throw in my penny's worth, I don't agree with Merkel and the French - if indeed they expressed such a sentiment. There's a very distinct difference between freedom of speech and inciting hate and violence and spreading lies. Trump was doing the latter, which only created a very toxic situation in America. Even within the perimeters of freedom of speech, there has to be somewhere we draw the line. I strongly believe the opinions we so desperately want to express should always be steeped in FACT no fiction; and neither should they be driven by the raging desire to win a fight at ANY cost, including outright lying and fabricating things with no basis whatsoever.
