roomy pendrives and external HD

Postby Pousinha » 05 Jan 2021, 21:22

As we make use of our pcs and notebooks, especially if we use the device to work, study (nowadays indispensable) or both of them, HDD becomes not enough. Full HDD means sloweness too. In addition, we can't risk to lose important documents if unfortunately the pc HDD breaks. So come pendrives (the roomy ones) and external HDD.
Which of the 2 do you prefer? In my case my preference is for roomy pendrives, as I experienced external HDD incompatibility (I have one good for windows 7, but not compatible with windows 10). Even knowing external HDD are roomier than pendrives. I'm using the same roomy pendrives since many years. I still own a 128 GIGA lexar 9 or 10 years old: it worked well with 4 or 5 different notebooks, different OS (windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10), different brands and it's still today as it were quite new. The same is happening with a toshiba pendrive, even less roomy than the lexar, as I use most of all for writers tools and images.

This term is related to resolution, not hard drives. Also use term HDD as Hard Disk Drive and not HD (it High Definiton and it is related to screen resolution)

Did you ever try SSD drive? it is much faster than classic HDD drive. Also set cloud account as backup for all drives.

Thank you for correcting, I really intended hard disk drive. I edited the post.
My new vaio has a 250 SSD and I'm enjoying its incredible speed in spite of a 4 GIGA memory (I can expand only at the end of this year: to not lose the factory guarantee opening the netbook).
About cloud account: I'm using google drive and mediafire free.

For next choose SSD M2 if you don't have it already. It is even much faster than SSD.

Actually I didn't know it exists various kinds of SSD. I must look any more to the vaio features to confirm what it owns.
