keyboard and mouse for a mobile?

Postby Pousinha » 12 Jan 2021, 22:44

Have you ever found a suitable kit of keyboard and mouse for a mobile? Not much time ago I tried to find a solution: my idea was to turn a mobile into a netbook (well, not really a netbook, I know this is impossible) in the sense that counting on a specific keyboard and mouse, I would be able to write long texts even in a mobile, taking the opportunity of the use of app office for samsung mobiles. Unfortunately until now I hadn't success. I have an external keyboard, but it doesn't work properly with my A9. I take on account technology has not much growth in a tier3 country where I live.
Any experiences?

I have already seen external keyboards for smartphones but never a mouse. Personally I have never been interested but I believe it would make it easier to write messages and do others activities that require us to write in the phone.

Sorry, @Pousinha, I have a laptop that comes in handy for all those external parts and typing is much easier and faster. I have loved my mobile the way it is, so the laptop is for doing most of my work. Why don't you settle for a laptop or computer that's a desktop instead?
But a phone is awesome cause you can carry it anywhere and its size is amazing.

Don't worry sweerie_banana, I still have notebooks and netbooks in my home. My last netbook is new, purchased during black friday. I only think about my toshiba notebooks and my husband's devices, all old stuff up to 8 years old. If all theses old staff break simultaneously (this kind of thing happened yet to us), as my husband works 100% online too, I'm only evaluating if it comes possible to substitute some old stuff with a mobile.

ps: my new netbook vaio hasn't a dedicated GPU, so I'm worried about video editing (I'm worried about forcing too much my new netbook) and I'd like to do this activity by mobile, when my toshibas will say good-bye forever. So a mouse and keyboard would help doing video editing activity using a mobile

Depends on mobile phone charging port maybe you can connect it with USB to micro USB adapter.

Interesting, I think I'll try. My principal mobile is a galaxy A9 and it works well with both OTG adapter and USB doors. I never tried with big keyboard but I have one.

With the increased computing power of mobile phones and the availability of cloud computing, it will be interesting to see when we can connect a mobile phone to a keyboard, mouse and monitor and use it as our main or only computer.

Yes, true 8-) . We would spare a good amount of money this way (because mobiles cost very less than computers). I noticed my big external keyboard would need a particular adapter to connect to my A9. Hoping here in Brazil I'll be able to find one.

Even it has power, still for writing I would always choose cheaper laptop. Even when I get old, I think this stuff would not work me.

Smartphone is to small even against smaller keyboards. Here is example.

You still must be in front of table. In that case choose monitor.

Better option would be smart TV and wirelles keyboard. Something like this.

Good point mrki444. I wasn't so much thinking about what you showed in that top photo. More along the lines of having a monitor, mouse and keyboard on your desk, which connect to your mobile phone and then those components all working together like a desktop computer.

I have no idea that there are a keyboard and mouse for smartphones. This is actually a good idea because there are some people complaining that they can't see what they are typing due to poor eyesight.
