Kaspersky for mobile devices

Postby Pousinha » 21 Jan 2021, 18:14

Google play store provides kaspersky tools for little devices (both mobiles and tablets). We can choose between free and premium options. It's years I make use of the free option, whatever little device I had, less the no brand mobile cause lack of space. Free kaspersky offers scanning&internet security, updates, anti-theft and additional security in the case of chip removal, if we choose to add this latter option. Paid kaspersky offers real time protection too and if I don't mistake, backups.
I'm satisfied with the free option, especially using it in the galaxy A9 as antivirus companion to default mcafee. The only flaw is lack of cpu cooler, as lot of mobile antiviruses own, but galaxy A9 hasn't the overrheating habit unless I use heavy and demanding apps during hours (but I don't engage in such activities with the A9). In any way, for the sake of completeness, I downloaded CM lite in order to provide the A9 with a cpu cooler. I add that I never noticed conflicts between the 3 apps (default mcafee, kaspersky and CM lite), but maybe due to the A9 features.

To me, antivirus software seems like a waste of time. Each operating system has built in security mechanisms in this day and age. If you couple that with safe browsing habits, you're generally okay. The only security program I use is Malwarebytes.

Malwarebytes for a mobile? :?: Is not only for pcs? :?:
In any way, as I do tons of internet banking with my samsung and it supports whatever app, it never hurts to be careful.

A phone infected with a virus seems a rare case because the apps in google play are virus free and google can detect apps that carry a virus. You just have to be careful in downloading and installing app. Always go for the trusted app stores.
