app Photo windows 10

Postby Pousinha » 26 Jan 2021, 15:39

Did you notice app Photo, installed by default into windows 10 changed? It's not only to store photos, but it can be used as a video maker. Until last year Photo provided a good number of pieces of music too and I had a Photo project for a new e-book I'll publish in the future. But by accident, yesterday I discovered those pieces of music are under copyright :o . And Microsoft didn't even bother advising users (with an explanation into the app) about this issue :x . Better said: a Microsoft CEO explained users could add those pieces to videos, but not for commercial purpose. And last time I checked Photo, almost all pieces of music disappeared. I suppose Microsoft took them away during one of the last updates.

ps: it's to know app Photo is terribly heavy to run in old machines

As someone who greatly enjoyed using Windows Movie Maker as an easy-to-use video editor that could run on basically any computer, I may have to give this a look.

I still prefer windows movie maker, as Photo is very heavy and doesn't run correctly in old machines. And I didn't like the copyrighted musics issue. Microsoft would have been able to choose copyright free musics (some colleagues faced youtube issues because they simply didn't know Photo musics were copyrighted, lacking a clear Microsoft warning about musics being for non-commercial purpose). So I go for freeware legit resources to build up my e-book trailers.
