Do you know O.S. Solaris?

Postby Pousinha » 29 Jan 2021, 17:47

Years ago I saw commercial ads about PCs/notebooks whose O.S. was Solaris. No Windows, no MAC (if I don't mistake, Solaris may be a Linux based system). What's its usability? Does it differ too much from Ubuntu? It could be an open source system, but until now I never heard about online workers using it. Nor students, as universities usually require Microsoft or MAC use.

Not maybe, it is one of Linux distros. It is developed by Oracle and it come as free OS on many laptops. It has graphic interface so users don't see big difference if they choose move from Windows to it.

I think it has good compatibility. Adobe have Reader and Photoshop versions for Solaris.
OpenOffice and other free office package are compatibile with mostly every OS.

Good news! I can think about a new notebook with this O.S. for the future. As I'm getting sick of windows and its million updates lowering devices performance :?
