magnifier

Postby Pousinha » 02 Feb 2021, 20:58

Magnifier is a Windows tool we use to look at images and documents as they would present increased size. It's different from the zoom because magnifier doesn`t really increase the size of items as the zoom does, but we see them larger.
I made use of magnifier all the times I needed to analyze a detail of an image or document, to prepare an artistic job and if I remember well, during researches for past academic jobs too. Unfortunately, magnifier presents a flaw: we can`t magnify above 150% or 200% without losing all sharpness and sometimes that size is not enough to analyze.

I use magnifier a lot on Word documents as well as on PDF docs. Sometimes it can come in handy when checking out a small picture someone shared and we need to check the content closely.

It is quite a useful tool for seeing the small pictures in PDF documents. My elder daughter uses it a lot for her designing and artistic work. Yes, the sharpness may be lost if we magnify it too much but I guess that it does happen with Zoom too.

Great tool if you have lower quality projector. I use that thing often since projectors are not good at my work place. Also for some people icons are to small so I use magnifier to increase size. Example, icons in Word are very tiny and on lower quality projector is hard see it good.
